This is the third, updated and revised bulletin of its kind, presenting facts and figures on Israel’s settlement policies and practices in and around Jerusalem. Taking each affected Palestinian neighborhood and Israeli settlement enclave as a brief case studies, the bulletin presents the most recent events and developments in the city, including the growing presence of Israeli settlers in and around the Old City and the expansion of settlements in the wider Jerusalem area. By doing so, it demonstrates – and illustrates with many photos and maps – the geopolitical means employed by Israel to exclude Jerusalem from any future negotiations by making sure that the city can never be divided along any lines, and hindering any Palestinian plans to develop East Jerusalem and declare it the capital of a future Palestinian state.
